In Northern Hills, towed vehicle goes up in flames

SPEARFISH, S.D. — Thursday night, Northern Hills Troopers responded to a vehicle fire near the Wyoming border on I-90.

The driver of an eastbound RV pulling a 2019 Ford F-150 noticed smoke coming from the towed vehicle. When the driver pulled over to the side of the road, the F-150 started on fire. The driver and passenger safely exited the vehicle.

The pick-up was a total loss, and the RV sustained major damage.

Spearfish Fire Department was able to put the fire out with Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office assistance.
