Identity released in Rapid City fatal crash

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Police have identified the man who died in this weekend’s fatal crash at the intersection of Saint Joseph Street and East Saint Patrick Street.

The motorcycle rider is identified as 23-year-old Tallon Brey of Rapid City. Brey was a member of the South Dakota Army National Guard, and attended Black Hills State University and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

At around 6:20 p.m. on August 31st, police were dispatched to the intersection of Saint Joseph Street and East Saint Patrick Street for a report of a motorcycle that had collided with a truck. Life saving measures had been initiated on the motorcyclist, however, the man died from his injuries at the scene.

After speaking to witnesses, police determined that the motorcycle was travelling southbound on Saint Joseph Street.

As the motorcycle entered the intersection, it was struck by a pickup that was travelling east on E. Saint Patrick Street. The collision pushed the motorcycle into a second pickup truck. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
