Identity released in fatal Fall River four-wheeler rollover

EDGEMONT, S.D. –  An Edgemont man, David Johnson, 64 has been identified as the person who died in a four-wheeler rollover last week west of Edgemont.

The accident occurred when Johnson lost control of the 2017 Polaris RZR he was driving and went into the ditch where it rolled. Both Johnson and his passenger, 38-year-old Matthew Max also of Edgemont were thrown from the vehicle.

Johnson was pronounced dead on the scene and Max sustained minor injuries. According to a release from the Department of Public Safety neither occupant was wearing a safety device.

South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate this crash.
