Hot Springs woman identified as victim in fatal crash

FORT PIERRE, S.D. –  A Hot Springs woman has been identified as the victim in a one-vehicle crash that took place Friday morning west of Fort Pierre.

 

According to preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2003 Nissan Xterra was eastbound on U.S. Highway 14 when the vehicle left roadway to the north and rolled.

 

Hayley Kern, the 36-year-old driver, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

All information released so far is only preliminary.
