“Hope for the Homeless” issues cash cards to Rapid City students without homes

RAPID CITY, S.D. — “Hope for the Homeless” local outreach is accepting donations for the fourth year, and issuing cash cards to Rapid City Area Schools’ students living without homes.

The Rapid City Area Schools and 97.9 the Breeze and KLMP radio stations are again sponsoring Hope for the Homeless program in Rapid City, S.D. This program brings hope to homeless middle and high school students by giving them $25 cash cards during the Christmas season.

First Interstate Bank is accepting donations at any of their locations and will provide the VISA gift cards to the students with no charges.

To offer financial help to homeless students in Rapid City, donors may stop by any First Interstate Bank location and make a financial gift through a bank teller.

Donations can also be securely made through the radio station websites at 979thebreeze.com and klmp.com. The deadline to give is Friday, Dec. 13, 2019.

“A $25 gift card goes a long way to creating hope for these students,” said Anita Deranleau of RCAS. “Thank you if you are able to help this year!”

Last year, the program helped over 400 students in the RCAS district with financial gifts donated totaling $10,000.
