HOCKEY: Grizzlies outplay the Rush, Sabres fall to Helena
RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush closed out 2021 on Friday with a 3-1 win over the Utah Grizzlies.
The Rush were hoping to start off 2022 with another win against the top team in the Mountain Division.
Unfortunately, Utah rallied to beat Rapid City, 6-4.
The Rush jumped out a 2-0 lead in the first period thanks to power play goals by Max Coatta and Gabe Chabot.
However, the Grizzlies responded in the second period with four goals and added two more in the third.
Lukas Parik suffered the loss for the Rush. Parik set aside 30 out of 36 shots.
The Rush fall to 13-13-2-2, while the Grizzlies improve to 19-10-1-0.
Rapid City will host the Iowa Heartlanders for three games starting on Friday, Jan. 7.
