Hill City Café: A staple in the Hill City community

Hill City Café

Purchased in 2000 by Patty Houska and her husband, Hill City Café is a staple in the Hill City community where people congregate for a cup of coffee and delicious, homemade food.

Patty and her husband always wanted to redo the café before he passed away, but it didn’t happen until recently. A brand new kitchen and another seating room in the back that seats 40 was put into the restaurant.

They also have a bar and a full liquor license, as well as their garage doors area where people can sit in the window and talk to people going by and sit by a cozy fire.

Hill City Cafe 11Homemade Food

Most of the food at Hill City Café is homemade. They have delicious options like hot beef that comes with homemade red mashed potatoes, pies with crusts made from scratch, a caramel/cinnamon roll combination and burgers.

The hamburger comes in fresh and they never freeze it, and they slice and dice all of our vegetables. Even the soups and salads are made in-house.

At night, there’s steak and shrimp, as well as chicken fried steak that you can get for breakfast or lunch.

Congregation

And of course, Hill City Café it’s a good place to stop after church for a cup of coffee, or sit down for lunch and have a chat.

The restaurant supports the local schools where the high school drama club can come in after their play, or the cross-country team can come in the day they’re leaving for their cross-country meets.

Everyone in the Black Hills and surrounding areas are encouraged to stop in for a visit.
