Hiking in support of sobriety

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A group of hikers took the nice weather this weekend as a chance to hike Buzzards Roost in support of sobriety.

Organizers of the hike want people to know that the Black Hills have more to offer than drinking and drugs and that there is a support system out there for those in need.

Jonathan Williams, hike organizer, said “Support is what we all need to put the bottle down or put whatever down, whatever it is you are struggling with whether it be substances or whatever there is support for you that is why we are all here we are here to make a realization known that you don’t have to be intoxicated like nature can intoxicate you.”

Williams also said he plans on holding more hikes and getting more community members involved.
