Highway Patrol hopes to recruit women through seminars

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is looking for a few good women.

The Highway Patrol will host Women's Recruiting Seminars – two hour seminars meant to give women more information about how to join the organization.

In South Dakota there are currently only seven female troopers, but the number of women in law enforcement has been on the rise.

Colonel Craig Price says the Highway Patrol recognizes the important role female Troopers play within the organization and says they are always trying new things to reach out to more female applicants.

The seminars will be held in Aberdeen, Rapid City and Sioux Falls. Rapid City’s meeting is Wednesday night at the Highway Patrol Office at 6 p.m.
