Highway 87 at Junction of Highway 16 closed due to Culvert Repair

HILL CITY, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Transportation has closed down Highway 87 heading north alongside Galena Creek at the junction of Highway 16 south of Hill City.

The road will be closed due to crews having to replace a failed culvert at the intersection, and won’t reopen until April 1, 2020.

If you are traveling in this area, be sure to use the detour on Palmer Creek Rd which has been set in place. Palmer Creek Road then connects to Highway 244.
