High School Soccer Playoffs: Four local teams move on to the second round

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The high school soccer playoffs kicked off on Tuesday across the state.

No. 6 Rapid City Stevens hosted No. 11 Pierre in the opening round of the Class ‘AA’ boys soccer playoffs.

The Governors grabbed the early lead.

But Zack Williams scored on a first-half penalty kick to tie it up at 1-1 and the Raiders went on to beat the Governors, 3-1.

The Raiders now advance to the quarterfinals where they will play at Sioux Falls Jefferson on Saturday, Oct. 8.

#5 Brandon Valley def. #12 RC Central, 2-0

#2 SF Lincoln def. #15 Sturgis, 3-0

#7 RC Stevens def. #10 Watertown, 6-0

#6 SF Jefferson def. #11 Spearfish, 6-2
