High School Football: RC Christian falls to Mount Vernon – Plankinton in season opener

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Week one of the high school football season continued Saturday with Rapid City Christian taking on Mount Vernon – Plankinton.

Not only does Rapid City Christian have a new head football coach this year, but the Comets are playing 11-man football for the first time in school history.

Unfortunately, Rapid City Christian’s debut in Class 11B didn’t go so well.

The Titans scored early and often and shut out the Comets, 50-0.

The game ended at halftime.

In addition to losing their season opener, the Comets also lost their starting quarterback Avery Wipf who was injured in the first quarter.

Rapid City Christian will look to bounce back next Saturday as the Comets play Parker.
