High School Baseball: RC Central loses doubleheader to SF Washington

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Central opened the 2021 season dropping a doubleheader to Sioux Falls Washington by scores of 24-1 and 18-2.

In the first game, Central’s Riley Palmer had a base hit in the bottom of the fifth inning which allowed Kayden Jones to score from second base.

Meanwhile, Washington scored 17 runs in the sixth inning.

Kayden Jones started on the mound for Central. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out four.

 

Central struggled in the second game falling to Washington, 18-2.

The Cobblers gave up 18 runs on 15 hits.

Aidan Mason scored both runs for Central.

 

Central will travel to Sturgis on Saturday, March 27 for a doubleheader.

The Cobblers will play Sturgis at 1 p.m. followed by a game against Huron at 4 p.m.
