HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: RC Central hammers STM for first win of the season

RAPID CITY, S.D. – St. Thomas More squared off against Rapid City Central Thursday in high school baseball.

Both teams entered the contest still searching for their first win of the season.

The Cavaliers led 6-5 after five complete innings.

But the Cobblers scored 19 runs in the seventh and went onto beat STM 24-9.

Riley Palmer went 4-for-5 at the plate and finished with three RBIs for Central.

The Cobblers racked up 13 hits overall.

The Cavaliers were led by Trey Herrbolt who drove in three runs.

The Cobblers are now 1-8 on the season and the Cavaliers are 0-3

Central will host Douglas and Brookings on Saturday, April 10th.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers return to action on Tuesday, April 13th against Rapid City Stevens.
