Here’s what Twitter’s new verification system will look like

Elon Musk is getting ready to roll out Twitter’s new verification system next week, and this one will be colorful.

The CEO of the social media platform tweeted the plan which includes the manual authentication of all verified accounts.

Companies will get a gold check, government entities will have grey checks and individuals will display blue checks regardless of their celebrity status or lack thereof.

Musk’s previous attempt at a Twitter verification system was quickly mocked by a rash of spoof accounts including some that impersonated Musk himself.

Another one of Musk’s goals is to charge $8 for Twitter verification which he says will help Twitter be less dependent on ad revenue.

Musk did not comment on how much time it could take to manually verify accounts, but given the recent mass exodus of employees, it may take a while.
