RAPID CITY: The Rapid City Police Department maintains near-real-time reports of calls that they respond to. The data isn’t perfect; locations are imprecise, details are sparse, and it only reveals what crimes were reported, rather than what crimes actually occurred. That said, this crime blotter provides a quick look at crime across the city.

Here’s what crimes were reported in Rapid City in the past week:

Saturday, 2/4/23
- A theft at a liquor store in the 700 block of Mountain View Road (Baken Park) at 6:06 p.m.
- A stabbing in the 800 Block of Kansas City Street at 10:29 p.m.
- A theft from a specialty store in the 300 block of Omaha Street
- An assault at the Uptown Rapid Mall at 2:33 p.m.
- An assault in the 1500 block of N Lacrosse Street at 9:04 p.m.
- A theft at the 1200 block of N Lacrosse Street (Walmart) at 3:40 p.m.
- An assault at the intersection of E North Street and Camden Drive at 1:43 p.m.
- An assault at a home in the 200 block of Bald Eagle Lane at 11:59 a.m.
Sunday, 2/5/23
- 10 assaults were reported
  - 1 stabbing in a parking lot in the 600 block of E North Street at 2:30 p.m.
  - 1 assault with a weapon at a parking lot in the 0 block of St. Columbus Street
  - 2 assaults at convenience stores, one at I-90 Highway Exit 61 at 1:00 a.m., and the other in the 1400 block of Haines Avenue at 1:55 p.m.
  - 6 others:
    - At the intersection of Cambell Street and Center Street at 1:00 a.m.
    - In the 400 block of E Fairlane Drive at 11:34 p.m.
    - In the 2600 block of Queen Heights Court at 6:27 p.m.
    - In the 4300 block of Cedar Ridge Place at 2:58 p.m.
    - In the 700 block of 5^th Street at 10:15 p.m.
    - In the 1500 block of Brentwood Street at 11:19 a.m.
Monday, 2/6/23
- 2 stolen vehicles were recovered. One was found in the 4000 block of Cheyenne Blvd, and the other near the intersection of N 7^th Street and Van Buren Street
- 4 drug violations:
  - At Corner Stone Rescue Mission
  - At a home in the 900 Block of E Meade Street
  - At South Middle School
  - At a home in the 2600 block of Queen Heights Court
- A weapon was reported at Rapid City High School at 1:20 p.m.
- A car was reported stolen from the Rent-A-Wreck at 1600 SD 44 at 4:56 p.m.
- An assault was reported at the Prima School of Dancing at 5:15 p.m.
- A theft was reported at a home in the 200 block of Bald Eagle Lane at 7:48 p.m.
Tuesday, 2/7/23
- 5 drug violations
  - At the Rapid City Minimum Unit
  - At Rapid City High School
  - At Central High School
  - At a home in the 1100 block of Anamosa Street
  - At North Middle School
- 2 assaults were reported at “The Big Three”
  - One in the 1700 block of North Maple Avenue at 11:12 p.m.
  - One in the 200 block of E Knollwood Drive at 11:33 p.m.
- An assault was reported in the 1600 block of Kellogg Place (Star Village) at 11:20 a.m.
- A vehicle was reported stolen in the 2800 block of Nugget Gulch Road at 11:48 a.m.
Wednesday, 2/8/23
- A vehicle was reported stolen in the 500 block of 3 Street at 9:56 a.m.
- A vehicle was reported stolen in the 300 block of E Adams street at 1:41 a.m.
- Theft from a commercial building was reported in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street at 7:59 a.m.
- Police were called for a shoplifter at the Walmart at 1200 N Lacrosse Street at 11:46 a.m.
- An assault was reported in the 1100 block of Van Buren Street at 4:00 p.m.
- A burglary was reported at a construction site in the 5100 block of Mount Rushmore Road
- Two thefts were reported in the 1700 block of N Lacrosse Street, one at a gas station, and one at a hotel.
- A theft from a shopping mall was reported in the 2200 block of North Maple avenue at 12:20 p.m.
- Two assaults were reported in the 3900 block of Point West Place at 7:21 p.m.
Thursday, 2/9/23
- 2 drug violations
  - At the intersection of E Saint Patrick Street and E Saint Joseph Street
  - At South Middle School
- An assault was reported at a hotel in the 1700 block of Rapp Street at 4:07 a.m.
- Two home burglaries were reported in the 100 block of Surfwood Drive around 7:07 a.m.
- An assault was reported at Central High School at 11:56 a.m.
- An alcohol violation was also reported at Central High School, at 9:08 a.m.
- A theft was reported in the 1900 block of Lacrosse Street at 9:46 a.m.
- A theft was reported in the 1900 block of Fox Road at 2:33 p.m.
