Helpline Center’s Holiday Guide shows volunteers ways to give back

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Not only is this the season of giving in the Black Hills, it’s also the season of giving back.

Whether it’s helping serve a holiday meal, wrap presents, or even donating gifts to the less fortunate, there are many opportunities to give back.

Since it’s establishment in 2015, the Helpline Center has been making it easier to find the organizations most in need.

Their Holiday Guide helps volunteers search under four major categories: Events, Assistance, Volunteering, and Giving.

The guide, however, does not cover their monetary.

Instead, it’s giving section covers other needs that aren’t limited to the holidays.

“What we have listed on our giving guide is things like winter clothing, new or gently used kids toys, hygiene items,” said Helpline Center Black Hills Program Coordinator Audrey Nordine. “Things of that nature that organizations in our community can use now.”
