Harley-Davidson of Rapid City helps recycle during Rally week

With a dramatic increase in people comes an increase in garbage. And Harley-Davidson in Rapid City has been working to meet the recycling needs of visitors during the 75th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

For the second year, Harley-Davidson is participating in Rapid City’s Event Recycling Program. Vice president of Harley-Davidson, Jim Burgess, says they were the first participant last year, and since then the program has grown to multiple venues throughout the community.

The Solid Waste Division of Rapid City says halfway into the Rally there has been a collection of 2.32 tons of recyclable containers – saving 25 cubic yard of landfill space – and they send a big thank you to Harley-Davidson in Rapid City.
