Groundbreaking ceremony for the First Nations Sculpture Project
A new site in Downtown Rapid City has been preserved for a project two years in the making.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the First Nations Sculpture Project took place Thursday morning inside Halley Park, where four notable Sioux Indians of the 20th century are set to be made into bronze busts.
The project will honor educators, artists, philosophers and doctors of the indigenous people of South Dakota.
