Grocery Mart sets aside a special hour for seniors to shop

Following suit with other grocery stores and large retailers around the country in an effort to make getting necessities easier, Grocery Mart is setting aside an hour for seniors to shop.

STURGIS, S.D. — Grocery Mart in Sturgis is setting aside their first hour of business – 7 am to 8 am as a time for seniors and other high risk customers to shop.

Managers are asking people to be honest while they put this request in place.

They are concerned for the health and safety of their customers who are most at risk for being affected by COVID-19.

Annika Meyer, Grocery Mart Managers, says, ‘We care about them and we want them to be healthy, so that is kind of how it started is you know we just want to take care of our customers – our regulars.”
