Grand Gateway Hotel shooting victim remains hospitalized

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The victim in Saturday’s shooting at Rapid City’s Grand Gateway Hotel remains hospitalized as of Tuesday, March 22.

According to the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s Office, the victim is alive but “not doing well.”

Rapid City Police were called to the hotel for a report of a disturbance during the pre-dawn hours of Saturday morning.

Upon arrival, officers were told a gun had been fired in one of the rooms. When they entered the room, officers located a single gunshot victim.

After speaking with witnesses, police arrested 19-year-old Quincy Bear Robe. He is charged with aggravated assault and commission of a felony with a firearm.

He remains in custody in lieu of a $1 million cash or surety bond.
