Governor Noem orders Capitol flags at half-staff in honor of former lawmaker

PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Kristi Noem orders flags at the State Capitol to be flown at half-staff from 8 a.m. until sunset on Friday, Feb. 8, to honor the life of former state legislator Carol Fitzgerald Simpson of Rapid City.

Fitzgerald Simpson, served in the State House of Representatives from 1993 to 2000.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City and funeral service is planned 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8 at Rimrock Evangelical Free Church in Rapid City.
