Gov. Noem names new interim chief of staff

PIERRE, S.D. — South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem on Friday named Mark Miller interim chief of staff for the Governor’s Office.

Miller has served as general legal counsel to the Governor’s Office since October 2020.

He succeeds Aaron Scheibe, who will continue to advise Noem as an outside consultant focusing on federal funds for coronavirus relief.

Scheibe was named chief of staff in May 2021. He has also served as a senior policy advisor to Gov. Noem, and was deputy commissioner on the South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development from 2014 to 2019.
