Goldfish crackers recall

Pepperidge Farms is voluntarily recalling four varieties of its popular Goldfish crackers because they could potentially be contaminated with salmonella.

The four flavors are Flavor-Blasted Xtra Cheddar, Flavor-Blasted Sour Cream and Onion, Goldfish Baked with Whole Grain Xtra Cheddar, and Goldfish Mix Xtra Cheddar and Pretzel.

The recall does not include regular Goldfish crackers.

The company took the action after one of its ingredient suppliers notified Pepperidge Farms that a powder used in a seasoning may be contaminated with salmonella.

The products have been distributed throughout the United States, but so far no illnesses have been reported.

Pepperidge Farms has posted a chart listing all the different varieties and packaging.

Consumers can return affected packages to the place of purchase for a refund.
