Global Make Music Day in Rapid City


RAPID CITY, S.D. – Friday was global Make Music Day and downtown Rapid City was echoing with tunes. Performers took the stage at Main Street Square.

The day started in France over 30 years ago and is now celebrated in over 100 countries. People from across South Dakota are downtown singing, rapping, playing instruments, and entertaining the public.

“There are all ages, all abilities all skill levels that are performing here today which is such an amazing opportunity – we have 26 different artists – they represent all kinds of music all kinds of genres,” said Dan Rosenfield, with the Allied Arts Fund.

Rapid City has participated in the festival for over 30 years.
