Giving thanks across the Black Hills this Thanksgiving

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Every family celebrates Thanksgiving a little differently, but one thing remains the same at every table, we all take a moment to share what we’re thankful for. I had the chance to go to a few thanksgivings, and have the even luckier chance to share what I saw and heard.

Here’s what our neighbors are thankful for this year.

“Shelter…..and siblings.”

“I am thankful that we are having the best time of our life right here, right now, in this moment.”

“I am thankful that my husband is here with me, or military. He’s military, so I’m just glad that he’s here this Thanksgiving, he wasn’t here last year.”

“I’m thankful for my family and having some place to come on Thanksgiving and have a good meal…definitely thankful for that.”

“Thankful I think that we made it through COVID, things are getting better.”

“I’m thankful for Thanksgiving and family, this run…Ed, he’s amazing, it’s just a great day.”

“I’m thankful for that I can still play music and drive a car and that I’m still able to walk and all those things. And I’m thankful that my son lives right in Sturgis so that we can be together.”

“I’m thankful for this country we have to live in, for our freedoms, for our liberty. I thank God for all of any blessings He’s bestowed upon us, and for our neighbors and for all the friends. “

Personally, I’m thankful that I was welcomed into a community full of people and stories that make me smile. And that I get the chance every day to share that joy and hope with you.
