GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Stevens outlasts Brookings, Watertown storms past Central
RAPID CITY, S.D. – It was another busy Saturday in girls high school basketball.
Rapid City Stevens team hosted the Brookings Bobcats.
Macey Wathen hit some key free throws in the final minute and the Raiders defeated the Bobcats, 43-39.
The Raiders won their fourth straight and are now 9-2 on the season.
Sophomore Taaliyah Porter led Stevens with 21 points and seven rebounds followed by Macey Wathen with eight points.
The Raiders will hit the road for games in Mitchell and Huron on Jan. 27-28.
Watertown 77, RC Central 34
Watertown used a barrage of 3-pointers to defeat Rapid City Central on Saturday in girls basketball, 77-34.
The Arrows were 15-of-23 from beyond the arc.
Maddy Rohde led the Arrows with 20 points.
The Cobblers were led by Villique Fallis with 7 points followed by Leah Landry and Aaliyah Jones with six points each.
Central falls to 4-6 on the season.
The Cobblers will travel across the state to battle Huron and Mitchell on Jan. 27-28.
