Gas leak near Mall Drive causes traffic shutdown
UPDATE (9:50 a.m.): Crews have closed off the gas line. Traffic can continue as normal according to Lt. Jim Bussell.
RAPID CITY, SD — The stretch of Mall Drive from North Lacrosse Street to Tish Boulevard is closed as crews work to close a gas leak in the area.
Authorities urge drivers to consider an alternate route until the area is declared safe.
The leak appears to have been caused when a construction crew struck a commercial gas line.
