Game, Fish and Parks now taking applications for returned turkey licenses

PIERRE, S.D. — South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks is now taking applications for returned Prairie Spring Turkey and Custer State Park turkey licenses. Online applications will be accepted until 8 a.m. CDT on Monday, April 19.

License holders who are not planning on hunting must have their licenses postmarked before the beginning of the respective season, based on specific dates provided by GFP. Hunters returning their tags will receive a full refund, no questions asked, and preference points for that season will be retained.

Any returned license will be posted on the GFP licensing website and available via the lottery process. Hunters applying for return tags will be able to put in a first and second choice for each season, with preference points not being used.

For more information on returned licenses currently eligible for draw, visit S.D. Game, Fish and Parks online here.
