GALLERY: High winds cause damage throughout the Black Hills

UPDATE (10:47 a.m.): The America Center fire is contained with a line around it.  It is approximately 49 acres in size and fire crews will remain on scene for mop up.

BLACK HILLS, S.D. — High winds have been making their way around the Black Hills.

The winds were so high that they blew a trampoline into the second story of an upstairs kitchen window in Box Elder. No one was injured.

Power lines and trees are also down in the western Custer County area, including across many roadways. There are also two wildfires, one on America Center Road and Hazelrodt Cutoff. However, these fires aren’t threatening structures at this time and no evacuations are in place.

The public is asked to avoid any downed power lines.

Update @ 0740 – The fire on Hazelrodt is out, the fire department is still on scene.
