RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office has a new friend to spread some sunshine.
This is where we introduce Harley, who’s a 19-month-old Black Lab that’s just started his duties as a Therapy Dog for PCSO.
Harley goes around the facility making friends with the staff. His handler, Corey Brubakken, who is a retired member of the Sheriff’s Office says Harley plays a crucial role.
“Because of, you know what corrections and law enforcement and our CARE Campus endure on a daily basis, you know, sometimes they just need a little Harley time and and if that brings them just a little bit, a little warmth and joy happiness. That’s what his role is,” Brubakken said.
Cory and Harley make the rounds at the Pennington County Public Safety Building every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
