Friday Football Roundup: St. Thomas More rolls over Douglas for fifth straight win

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Since losing to the Winner Warriors during week two of the high school football season, St. Thomas More has been unstoppable.

In fact, the fourth ranked Cavaliers have been perfect since that loss to Winner and are now seventh in Class 11B based on seed points.

The Cavaliers won their fifth straight on Friday night as they rolled over the Douglas Patriots, 42-6.

STM quarterback Ryder Kirsch connected with Jake Goble on a 56-yard touchdown pass on their first play from scrimmage.

Overall, Kirsch threw for three touchdowns and ran for another.

Ryan Wojcik also rushed for a touchdown for the Cavaliers.

St. Thomas More won the Black Hills Conference title for the seventh straight year and the 10th time in 11 seasons.

The Cavaliers improve to 6-1 on the year and will wrap up the regular season on Friday, Oct. 18 in Fort Pierre against the Stanley County Buffaloes.

Meanwhile, Douglas falls to 1-6. The Patriots will host Yankton on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m.
