Four suspects arrested on Burglary charges

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Four suspects have been taken to the Pennington County Jail on Burglary charges.

At around 11:55 p.m. on Friday, October 23, the Rapid City Police Department was called to 5509 Bendt Drive for a report of a burglary at Stoney Creek Wine and Spirits in Suite 305.

The person who called the police gave them a description of the suspect’s vehicle. When police arrived at the front door of the business, they found that it was shattered with a rock.

The officers cleared the building and made sure that no one else was in the business. During this time, the police also saw a car that matched the description of the suspect vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Catron Boulevard.

Police then saw the vehicle turn onto Black Hills Boulevard and then onto Bald Eagle Lane, at which point they initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, in the parking lot at 121 Stumer Road.

A female driver, 18-year-old Zailynn McDow of Rapid City, and three male occupants were detained outside of the vehicle until a witness of to the burglary was transported to the scene and positively identified the three male occupants, who were identified as the following:

  • 29-year-old Curtis Horse of Porcupine
  • 19-year-old Joshua Stone of Porcupine
  • 24-year-old Dezmond Twohearts of Rapid City

McDow was placed under arrest for aiding/abetting, third degree burglary and a warrant.

Horse and Stone were placed under arrest for third degree Burglary and impersonation to deceive law enforcement. Twohearts was placed under arrest for third degree burglary.

All four were then transported to the jail.
