Black Hills State falls to CSU Pueblo, 38-0

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Mines football team wrapped up the season on Saturday by hosting the Chadron State Eagles.

The Hardrockers scored on their opening drive and went on to beat the Eagles, 28-7.

SD Mines finally claimed the Eagle Rock Trophy.

Jayden Johannsen finished with 304 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Plus, he rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown.

The win snapped a 15-game losing streak against Chadron State.

Prior to the victory, the Hardrockers last beat the Eagles on Sept. 5, 1987.

South Dakota Mines finishes the season with an overall record of 7-4 and 6-3 in the conference.

The Hardrockers clinched their first seven win season for the first time since 2010.


CSU Pueblo 38, Black Hills State 0

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State football team dropped its season finale on Saturday to CSU Pueblo, 38-0.

The Yellow Jackets finished 7-4 overall and 5-4 in the conference.

It was the Yellow Jackets first winning season since 2016.
