Foam jacking projects scheduled for southwestern SD

CUSTER, S.D. — Road work crews are set to begin foam jacking projects at various locations throughout southwestern South Dakota.

The crews will move from one project to the next, beginning with Highway 16B in Rapid City between Eglin Street and Homestead Street from July 18-23.

The following projects include:

  • Highway 79 between Fairburn and Hermosa in the southbound lane. It is scheduled for Monday, July 25.
  • Highway 385 three miles north of Hot Springs in the north and southbound lanes from July 26-27.
  • Highway 18 one mile north of Oelrichs in the westbound lane from July 28-29.

For the projects on two-lane routes, traffic will be reduced to one lane. Multi-lane routes will have a single lane closed.

Traffic will be guided with flaggers and motorists should expect slight delays through the work areas during daytime hours.

The overall completion date for all of the projects is scheduled for Friday, July 29.
