Florida based company ‘Sun Bum’ visits Rapid City to raise awareness about skin cancer
RAPID CITY, S.D. — ‘We’re Not Bananas’ is a slogan created by the company Sun Bum to raise awareness across the country about skin cancer. The company is traveling to all 50 states and decorating 50 statues to help spread the word.
Sun Bum covered the statue in downtown Rapid City of 2nd President of the United States John Adams in a banana suit.
The message, humans are not covered head to toe like a banana. According to the skin cancer foundation one in five Americans develop skin cancer in their lifetime.
But Sun Bum is trying to spread the word that it is not bananas to get a check up and do something about it.
