Five City departments serve as Salvation Army Angel Tree gift locations

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The City is participating in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program offering five tree locations. By participating in the Angel Tree Program you can have a lifelong impact on a child in just three easy steps — Pick up, shop it, drop it off!

The public is encouraged to stop by one of the City’s Angel Tree locations, pick up a gift tag from the Angel Tree containing a child’s holiday gift wish, shop for that gift, then drop off the tag with the unwrapped item back at the same location.

“The City is pleased to participate again in this year’s Angel Tree program,” said Mayor Steve Allender. “There are various Angel Tree locations, including five City locations. There are few greater rewards than bringing happiness and joy to a child at Christmas and granting their gift wish.”

City locations this year include:

  • City Hall — 300 Sixth Street
  • Rapid City Police — 300 Kansas City Street
  • Rushmore Plaza Civic Center — 444 Mt. Rushmore Road
  • The Parks and Recreation Office — 515 West Boulevard
  • Fire Station 1 — 10 Main Street

The deadline to drop off gifts is noon Friday, Dec. 13.
