Fish hatchery to host annual holiday event
Local wines and beers to be featured
SPEARFISH, S.D. – If you’re looking to brave the weather for a holiday treat Saturday, Spearfish may be the ticket for you.
The D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery will host its annual Hatchery Holidays event on Dec. 1 from 3-7 p.m.
The event will feature spectacular holiday decorations and live music, as well as hot chocolate and wine and beer tastings. Featured suppliers include Prairie Berry Winery, Naked Winery, and Crow Peak Brewing Co.
Hatchery Holidays is a tradition that makes the historic fish hatchery one of Spearfish’s signature attractions.
“It’s just tradition,” said Nancy Cole, assistant to the director of the D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery. “People love to come on our grounds year-round. We’re Spearfish’s largest tourist attraction, and so people love to come here. They love to walk our grounds. They love to come here because we put on a special flair for the holidays.”
Admission is $25 and tickets are available at the gift shop and the Booth House. Proceeds benefit the hatchery’s educational programs and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service programs at the facility.
The event is planned to go on regardless of the weather. For more information and updates, visit the D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery’s Facebook page.
