First Assembly offers drive in church service
Easter Sunday services will look a bit different this year, many church's are offering more choices for their congregations to celebrate Easter.
First Assembly Rapid City will host a drive in Easter church service at 5 p.m. on Friday rather than Sunday due to the snowy forecast.
Guests will park their vehicles in the parking lot and tune into a transmitter to listen to the service along with watch the worship performed on a stage.
Church staff saw the creative ways many were reaching out to the community and decided to think outside the box to reach parishioners.
Pastor Craig Moore, First Assembly Rapid City, says, “Throughout the whole conversation we thought, well why don’t we do a drive in church ya know and have people drive up and we’ll have church, they will be able to see one another — wave at each other- honk at each other- and just have fun with it.”
Moore says they may even plan for a parade after services.
