Firefighters battle early morning structure fire in Rapid Valley

 

RAPID VALLEY, S.D. — Emergency crews from several agencies responded to a structure fire in Rapid Valley early Monday morning.

At 4:37 a.m., a call came in for a fire at a residence on the 4400 block of Kimm Street. Fire crews from Rapid Valley, Rapid City, North Haines, Ellsworth, Black Hawk and Box Elder arrived on scene to battle the blaze.

According to Pennington County Fire Administrator Jerome Harvey, firefighters were initially driven out of the house by the flames, but the fire was eventually contained and extinguished.

The source of the fire has not been determined and no injuries are reported at this time.
