Fewer than 100 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Dakota

No new West River cases

PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health on Sunday reported 93 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases statewide to 1,635.

Minnehaha County reports 86 new cases, bringing the county’s total to 1,362.

The total number of cases reported in Pennington County remains at 10, with six of those fully recovered.

Statewide, a total of 646 people have recovered from the virus, up 94 from Saturday.

The number of COVID-19-related deaths in South Dakota remains at seven. Six more people needed hospitalization on Saturday, bringing the total number of people ever hospitalized due to COVID-19 to 74.

The South Dakota Public Health Lab reports 10,427 tests have come back negative.

On Friday, the state began breaking down the number of negative tests by county. As of Sunday morning, 318 tests have been negative in Pennington County. For more information on each county’s test result breakdown, visit the Department of Health website.
