Feeding South Dakota to host special Day of Service event

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Feeding South Dakota is hosting their first-ever Bring Your Child to Serve Day on January 17.

Feeding South DakotaIn honor of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the organization welcomes all Rapid City residents and their families to come out on the national holiday from ages 11 and up to make a difference in their community.

All interested will have a chance to learn about the importance of the work Feeding South Dakota does for the area and help prepare meals to be distributed to those in need.

“When you bring your children in, you’ll have an opportunity to learn about food insecurity in your community, and then those kids actually get to do that hands-on service project,” Feeding South Dakota Marketing and Communications Director Stacey Andernacht explained. “Where they’re packing the food and boxing it up, and understanding that the little bit of work that they’re doing through our bring your child to serve day is actually making such a great impact locally.”
