Father, daughters injured in car vs. pedestrian accident
A father and two young daughters were injured Tuesday night in a car vs. pedestrian accident in north Rapid City.
Rapid City Police were called to the intersection of East North and Lacrosse streets at 10:17 p.m.
A family of four — a father, two daughters ages five and six, and a mother were crossing East North Street in the crosswalk with the green light.
According to officers, a car heading south on Lacrosse turned left onto East North and struck the family in the crosswalk.
The father took the brunt of the impact. His daughters suffered bumps and bruises. The mother was uninjured. The father and daughters were transported to Regional Health Rapid City Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The actual extent of their injuries was not reported.
The driver, a 42-year-old woman, stayed on the scene. There were no initial indications that alcohol was a factor.
Rapid City Police investigators continue to look into the accident. Charges may be pending in the case.
