Fatal incident involves man stuck under semi-truck

BENNETT COUNTY, S.D. – Friday night emergency crews rushed to the scene of a Bennett County residents.

At first, they were notified that there was a man stuck under a vehicle but later found out that he was stuck under a semi-truck. Martin Volunteer Fire Department, Medic 4 with Oglala Sioux Tribe, and Bennett County First Responders were on the scene just north of Allen.

The man was unconscious when they arrived and the fire department extracted him with the jaws of life. The victim did not survive and it is unknown how he ended up under the semi-truck.

Martin volunteer fire department expressed their condolences on social media tweeting:

“Our sorrow is immense as we now pray for strength and compassion for the family of the victim. Strength and safety for emergency dispatch, rescue, medical, and law enforcement involved.”
