Fatal four-wheeler rollover near Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. — One person died and another was injured late Sunday night in a single-vehicle rollover crash seven miles west of Aberdeen.

At around 11:40 p.m. the driver of a Polaris Ranger 900XP four-wheeler lost control while turning on a gravel road, causing the vehicle to roll.

A 37-year-old male was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The other 34-year-old male suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an Aberdeen hospital. Between the two occupants, it is not yet known who was driving the vehicle.

South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash, including the use of seatbelts by the two occupants.

Names are not being released pending notification of family members.
