Fatal crash Sunday morning in Keystone, victim name not released

KEYSTONE, S.D. — A 63-year-old male was killed in a single vehicle accident on Sunday morning while driving on Highway 40 east of Keystone.

South Dakota Department of Public Safety wrote in a statement that the man was driving a 2017 Kia Sportage that went off the road, hit a ditch, and rolled. The victim was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant.

South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. The victims name has not been released pending notification of his next-of-kin.
