Black Hills Farmer’s Market 1st Annual Farm to Table Tasting Event

The aim of this event is to promote and celebrate the Black Hills Farmers Market through an annual Farm to Table event where local chefs and culinary professionals showcase a menu comprised of locally grown ingredients. All net profits for the event will be utilized to expand the market facilities on site at Market Park just off Omaha Street in Rapid City.

The event takes place October 11th from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Rock Valley Event Barn located at 7575 North Haines Avenue.

Six chefs will showcase seven dishes with ingredients sourced from the Black Hills Farmers Market vendors. Culinary professionals include: Chef Tony Balay of Savour, Chefs Kim & Brandon Brave Heart of Etiquette Catering Company Executive Chef Scott Brinker of Regional Health, Chef Randy Hinsch of the Box Elder Country Club, Lisa Iron Cloud (at Etiquette Catering Company), and Executive Chef Jeff Slather of Colonial House. Dishes include: Lamb & Brisket Street Tacos, Grazing Boards, Summer Harvest Vegetable Blend, Creamy Marinated Golden Beet & Sweet Onion Salad, Tri-Tip Street Tacos with Mushroom Glaze, Fall Harvest Stew with Bone Broth, Apple Gallette with Infused Cream and Caramel Sauce.

Besides the entrees provided by the chefs, Black Hills Farmer’s Market vendors will showcase their non-produce/meat items. Fika Pastries, jams & jellies, pickles, honey and other assorted items will be available for tasting throughout the venue.

Two alcoholic drinks are provided with each ticket. A seasonal wine and a craft beer will be available from Prairie Berry Winery and Miner Brewing Company (Hill City). Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available including an Apple Cider from Krause Family Orchard (Glenham).
