Escaped prison inmates back in custody

PIERRE, S.D. — According to the Department of Corrections, two prison inmates who escaped from their community service job site in Pierre on Friday are now in custody.

Tahnasha Stricker and Christy First In Trouble took a vehicle without authorization from their job site on Friday. Officials say that the two were apprehended by the Rosebud Police Department on August 24, and were driving a vehicle matching the description of the one taken from their job site.

Stricker, 31, is serving a one year sentence from Hughes County for unauthorized ingestion of a controlled substance and more than six years from Minnehaha County for possession of a controlled substance.

First in Trouble, 33, is serving a two year sentence for possession of a controlled substance and a two year sentence for failure to appear, both from Pennington County. She’s also serving a five year sentence with three years suspended out of Mellette County for unauthorized ingestion of a controlled substance.
