UPDATE: Body of missing Sioux Falls woman found

UPDATE: The body of 60-year-old Kay Flittie was found approximately four miles east of where she was last seen on Saturday according to a release from the Hanson County Sheriff’s Office. Her death remains under investigation at this time.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – According to the South Dakota Endangered Missing Advisory, 60-year-old, Kay Flittie, was last contacted on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, when she left Sioux Falls, S.D. en route to visit a relative in Arkansas.

She was driving a tan four-door Buick Lucerne with temporary South Dakota license plates.

At about 2 p.m. on April 5th a family member received a call from Flittie that originated in a rural area of Hanson County, South Dakota.

Law enforcement also began to receive reports of a woman that was appearing confused, walking on the shoulder of the road during the same timeframe and responded to the area to look for her.

Law enforcement was unable to make contact with Flittie, but did recover her car.

There has been no contact with Flittie since the afternoon of April 5th and she did not arrive at her destination.

Flittie is described as a white female, 5’7″ tall, weighing 200 pounds, and has hazel eyes and light brown, blonde hair.
