Empty Bowls Event happening on Tuesday

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Feeding South Dakota is hosting its Empty Bowls Event on Tuesday.

Bowls are painted throughout the year by people in our area. Then at this annual event, people can come and buy one of those bowls. The bowl comes with soup, bread and dessert. The money from each bowl purchase will go to help fund one of the many programs that Feeding South Dakota offers.

Money from the Empty Bowls event goes right back to Feeding South Dakota’s Backpack Program, which provides 1,800 children with a weekend food package during the school year and another 700 children during the summer who don’t have access to free and reduced school meals.

Tickets for this event are still available for the 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. sessions in the Surbeck Center at the School of Mines on Tuesday.
